Our History

The Foundation of Apostolic Temple UPC
At the beginning of the last century, there was a great awakening in the church in the United States. In Topeka, Kansas and on Azusa Street in Los Angeles, California people began to have a revival of New Testament power. They experienced the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and of Fire. This move of God spread across the United States over the next few years.

In 1986 Pastor James Crowder of Louisiana came to New England to establish an apostolic church in the city of Pawtucket, RI.
Three years later in 1989 a store front property on Kenyon Avenue was purchased and God began to add to the church such as should be saved.

Pastor Crowder felt impressed to return to the state of Louisiana and in 1997
Pastor Danny Keel, from the state of Texas, was elected pastor.
Pastor Keel continued the work for the Lord until God led him to Polk Nebraska in 2003.

As an Ordained Minister, the Lord began directing Rev. Kevin Horne to a pastoral ministry in early 2002. Having served as an Assistance Pastor under three administrations in New Bedford, MA, Rev. Horne acknowledged God's calling to Pawtucket, RI and was elected pastor of Apostolic Temple in March 2003.

Currently, services are being held at Epworth United Methodist Church,
915 Newport Ave. in Pawtucket, RI
